Barbara J. Gile, born on March 8, 1960, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2026. She leaves behind a legacy of dedication, warmth, and community involvement that profoundly touched the lives of many.
Barbara devoted over 30 years of her life to the Lakeland Little Learners Preschool, where her commitment to nurturing and educating young children made a lasting impact. Her passion for early childhood education was evident in the care and attention she gave to each child, fostering an environment of learning and growth that will be remembered by families and colleagues alike.
A cherished member of Trinity Church in Pell Lake, Wisconsin, Barbara found solace and joy in her faith community. Her love for Christian music led her to enjoy attending concerts, where she embraced the uplifting spirit of worship and fellowship. Additionally, Barbara had a fascination with history, particularly the Civil War reenactments she attended with enthusiasm, reflecting her interest in preserving and understanding the past.
Barbara is survived by her loving family: her brothers Tom Gile and Lee Gile; her sister Christine Caputo and her husband Robert; her nieces Shawnda Kash (Larry) and Alison Sanders; and her great-nieces and great-nephews Josette Hatch, Jeqoia Li Sanders, and Shay Kash; and her “second sister” Jane Goody. Though loved and missed deeply, she joins her parents, John H. Gile and Ruth A. (Walbrandt) Gile, who preceded her in death.
Visitation to honor and remember Barbara’s life will be held on June 19, 2026, from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Haase Lockwood Funeral Homes and Crematory, located at 113 Freeman Street, Genoa City, Wisconsin. Following visitation, a memorial service will take place at the same location from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Interment will follow at Bloomfield Cemetery in Pell Lake, WI.
Barbara J. Gile’s life was marked by steadfast compassion, faith, and a dedication to those around her. Her memory will endure in the hearts of family, friends, and all who had the privilege to know her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
