Barbara A. Nienhaus age 78 of Burlington, WI (Lily Lake) died Friday evening May 16, 2014 at Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center in Milwaukee, WI.
The former Barbara Ann Ashwell was born on March 11, 1936 in Bryn Mawr, PA (a suburb of Philadelphia), the daughter of the Ralph and Kathryn Proctor Ashwell. On June 5, 1954 in Ardmore, PA, Barbara was united in marriage to Stanley J. Nienhaus, Sr. Since their marriage, Barbara has been a resident of Kenosha County.
Barbara formerly worked for the Wheatland School District for 34 years starting as a janitor and retiring as head cook in the cafeteria in 2002. Barbara enjoyed crocheting, cooking and spending time with her family. She was also a member of the Card Club.
Barbara is survived by: Her husband-Stanley, Sr.; 3 children-Stanley J. (Beverly) Nienhaus, Jr. of Lily Lake, WI, Patricia A. (Joseph) McCole of Twin Lakes, WI and David W. (Allison) Nienhaus of Lily Lake, WI; 4 grandchildren-Timothy A. McCole, Melanie R. McCole, Rachel A. (Nick) Weiss and Andrew J. (Katie) Nienhaus; 1 gr. Grandchild-Hastin Weiss; 1 sister-Jane (Lawrence) Krueger of Cassopolis, Michigan.
She was preceded in death by her parents-Ralph Ashwell and Kathryn Ashwell Clark; 2 brothers-Robert Burgess and Charles Burgess and 1 sister-Kathryn Boze.
The Nienhaus Family will receive friends from 5:00PM until 7:00PM Tuesday May 20, 2014 at the Haase-Lockwood & Assoc. Funeral Home in Twin Lakes. A private graveside service will be held on Wednesday at St. John's Cemetery. For online guestbook: haaselockwoodfhs.com.
