Obituary

Bari Bland, a beloved sister, mother, and the most fun grandma anyone could have wished for, passed away surrounded with endless love. Bari had a heart as big as her contagious laugh- always quick with a joke, a warm plate of the most delicious food, and a seat at the table for anyone in need. With her, nothing was ever too serious to be upset.

She had the rare gift of making everyone around her feel like family. Whether you were a neighbor, a friend, or a complete stranger, her door (and heart) was always open. Her kitchen was the heart of her home, where she created everything from scratch, from her chicken and dumpling soup to her famous apple and pumpkin chiffon pies. Italian seasoning graced nearly every dish, and her homemade treats were always, in her words, "terribly sickening".

She passed down a love for baking, flowers, gardening, caring for plants, and laughter to her grandchildren. She was the original "Cinderella" from whipping up recipes from scratch to sewing custom pieces the next. She could mend anything and would even become your personal seamstress if you were lucky. Her backyard was her sanctuary, blooming with flowers, tomatoes, strawberries, herbs, and her favorite, peonies. Known for her favorite scent of gardenias. She made every space beautiful, often with a grandchild pulling her weeds.

Bari had a unique way of making life feel lighter. Her laugh was infectious, her silliness unmatched, and her sayings unforgettable. Whether it was "I'm insane, how are you?" or "having fun with no money". Even in her final days, she was making jokes and comforting those around her.

Bari was, simply put, the best. A silly, sweet, and bright light in the lives of those who knew her. She leaves behind a family who will never stop loving and missing her, and who will carry her love, humor, and recipes in everything they do.

Survived by her sons Michael Fredericksen and William Fredricksen (Nicci Dunne).  Grandmother to Tessa Fredericksen, Gracie Fredericksen and William "Liam" Fredericksen Jr.  Sister to Mary Hansen (the late Gerald), Tephi Halverson (Marty) and the late William "Butch" Phillips.  She was preceded in death by her special friend Scott Haldeman.

Private family and friends service will be held at a later date to be determined.  The Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home and Crematory of Genoa City, WI is honored to serve the Bland family.
