Delavan: Betty J. Hartford, 78 of Delavan, WI died peacefully at her daughter's home in Darien, WI. She was born January 2, 1936 in McHenry Illinois the daughter of the late Earl and Amelia (Schinke) O'Donnell. Betty was united in marriage to John Hartford October 31, 1952 in Lake Geneva, WI. John died December 22, 2002. Betty was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Elkhorn, WI, she enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers, shopping and gambling, and She was an avid golfer. Betty was a devoted homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother that will be deeply missed. She is survived by her two daughters, Christine (Brian) Stoll of Darien, WI and Debby (Greg) Donovan of Oconomowoc, WI, three grandchildren Nicole (Rodney) Mundt, Ryan and Ashley Donovan. Three great-grandchildren Skylur, Kaden and Cali. Two sisters Muriel O'Donnell of Slinger, WI and Ruby Recknagel of Elkhorn, WI. Five nieces and nephews; Connie (Jerome) Rudolph, Dave (Angie) Recknagel, Cathy (George) Verdick, Dan (Sonja) Clegg and Brenda (Richard) Donovan and by a host of other relatives and friends. Private family funeral service will be held Monday at Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Homes and Crematory Elkhorn, WI with Rev. David Rau officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery Tibbets, WI. Memorials may be made in Betty's name to Aurora VNA Hospice.
