Betty was known for her strong work ethic and commitment.

Betty L. (Schultz) Klabunde, passed away on September 7, 2026, at the age of 88. Born on December 7, 1937 in Big Foot, IL. The daughter to the late Gilbert and Agnes (Rahn) Schultz. Betty lived a long life marked by devotion to her family, faithful work, and deep ties to her church and community.

Betty graduated from Badger High School in 1955. One of the defining joys of Betty’s life was her marriage to Howard Klabunde. They were married on November 27, 1955 in Genoa City, WI, and shared many years together until his death on May 1, 2021. Their marriage stood as an important part of her life and legacy.

Betty was known for her strong work ethic and commitment. After high school, she went to work as a cashier, and bookkeeper for the Wisconsin Power & Light Company for 6 years. She was a secretery for Werner Deignan CPA. She worked for Lake Geneva Country Meats for more than 50 years, a remarkable testament to her dedication and perseverance.  In addition to her working life, Betty was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Genoa City and served on the Women’s Fellowship at church and active in the Mary Martha Circle, reflecting the importance of faith and fellowship in her life.

Her life was always busy with family and friends. She enjoyed dancing with her husband, crocheting and playing cards.

Family was at the heart of Betty’s life. She is lovingly survived by her daughters, Susan (Jim) Humphreys and Linda (Terry) Eslick. She is also survived by her sisters, Julie Schultz and Janet (Dave) Seng, and by her mother in law , Mary Schultz. Betty’s family continued to grow through the generations, and she took great pride in them. She is survived by her (4) grandchildren and (8) great grandchildren, Brandon (Delaney) Coulman, Children: Jaxon Coulman, Stevie Coulman; Juliana Davison, Children: Dezmon Matson, Carson Matson, Emilia Davison; Jessica (Christian) Masters, Children: Braelyn McClure, Dallas McClure, Carter Masters; and Taylor Humphreys. She is also survived by a brother-in-law, sister-in-laws and many neices and nephews. May the love she gave them and the memories they shared remain a lasting comfort.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Klabunde; her daughter, Cindy Coulman; her father, Gilbert Schultz and mother, Agnes (Rahn) Schultz; brother Butch Schultz.

Visitation for Betty will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Faith First Congregational UCC, 624 Park Street, Genoa City, Wisconsin 53128. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. at the church with lunch immediately after. Inurnment will be held privately at a later date.

Betty will be remembered with love and gratitude by all who knew her. Her life was one of commitment, family, and quiet strength, and her memory will remain a blessing to those she leaves behind.
