(Sommer) Reynolds

Betty Jane Reynolds, 94 of Elkhorn, died Monday, August 28, 2017 at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center. She was born January 3, 1923 in the Town of Lafayette, WI, the daughter of the late Paul and Mildred (Lean) Sommer. Betty married Eugene G. Reynolds on October 7, 1944 in Elkhorn, WI. Gene preceded Betty in death by 8 years. They were just a few months short of celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary when Gene passed away in August 2009. During their long marriage, they were blessed to have five children, nine grandchildren, and three great- grandchildren whom they loved dearly. Betty was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Elkhorn, WI. She volunteered at RSVP and with the Ladies Aid at First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Elkhorn. She enjoyed many crafts to include crocheting, counted cross stich, and coloring. She took great pleasure in sharing her artwork with friends and family. Betty was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Everyone remembers Betty as a sweet, caring woman who loved to laugh. She will be missed by everyone who knew her.
Betty is survived by four children; Karen (Albert Voelkel) Gramenz of Blairsville, GA, Howard (Coe) Reynolds of Elkhorn, Darrell (Julie) Reynolds of Mount Pleasant, WI, Peggy (Mike) Cleveland of Poulsbo, Washington; nine grandchildren, Charles (Cortney), Desirae, Michael, Logan, Rachael, Malary, Amanda (Nathan), Tessa, and Clayton; and three great-grandchildren, Colton, Cathryn, and Carter. She is also survived by one sister; Beverly Freitag of Elkhorn, WI and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene, son, Dale; three sisters, Erna Mae Stearns, Beatrice Aldrich, and Mildred Williams and twin brothers, Wilford and Willis Sommer.
Funeral service will be 4:00PM on Friday, September 1, 2017 at Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home and Crematory, 730 N Wisconsin St. Elkhorn, WI, with Rev. Wayne Meier officiating. Visitation will be 2:00PM until service time Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be at East Delavan Cemetery. Online guest book at www.haaselockwoodfhs.com.
