He was united in marriage to Linda Sue Damuth on August 12th, 1995, in Whitewater WI. They later divorced but found their way back together later in life.

Carl worked his entire life as a heavy equipment operator as well as being a co-owner of Powers Lake Construction Company Inc. He also developed land and built houses. Carl's recreational life was filled with extreme adventure including big game hunting and fishing in Canada, Alaska and thought the mid-west. He was a member and past Vice President of the Bad River Hunting Camp Incorporated. Known and admired for his ice fishing skills, he was able to catch trophy fish, before the electronic age of cameras and GPS. His favorite breakfast were biscuits and gravy.

Carl was competitive, tough, and a rugged man, weaker than some, but stronger than most. He enjoyed anything outdoors, boating, snowmobiling, motorcycles, ATV'S you name it. He was a damn good shot with a rifle and shotgun. Recently on Sundays he looked forward to joining his brother Mark and great nephew Brecken visiting the Twin Lakes Sportsmen's Club to hang out with his friends and watch trap shooting competitions. Carl held very conservative political views and was a staunch supporter of Trump 45 and 47.

He also had several catch phrases you may have heard him say.

You can't have a good day every day!

You don't come looking for me Ya Hear!

Yah, Yah, Yah.
