Carol M. Sabin was born into eternal life on August 2, 2025, at age 98.

Carol was born in Chicago, IL, on July 13, 1927, daughter of the late Erwin and Marcella (Klemm) Miessler.  Carol grew up and attended school in Elmhurst, IL.  After Carol completed high school, she attended Lawrence University where she met her husband, Norbert Sabin.  She went on to earn her bachelor's degree from Elmhurst College.  On June 18, 1949, Carol and Norbert were married. They moved to Elkhorn, WI in 1952.

Carol had a strong faith, and a deep love for family, friends, birds, music, and time spent at the lake.  She was a talented piano player and had a wonderful singing voice; both strong attributes that she brought to the church choir over the years.  Carol was always active in church: singing in the choir, teaching Sunday school and confirmation classes, and serving on the church council.  She was a longtime volunteer at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center and served on the Elkhorn School Board for 16 years, some of those years serving as president of the board. The family participated in the AFS Exchange Program, hosting a high school student, Peter Hager, from Germany.

Carol is survived by her children, Mark (Marcia) Sabin, Marie DeVries, Jennifer (Vern Zuelzke) Keyzer, Paul (Joni) Sabin; grandchildren, Katie (Dot), Jonathan (Maria), Michelle (Chris), Desere (Matt), Vincent (Cheylene), Joey, Anthony, Timothy, Todd, Tyler; and 13 great-grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Elizabeth, sister, Barbara Spencer, and great-grandson, Jude Taylor Fosse.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 11, 2025, at St. John's Church, 104 S. Broad St., Elkhorn, WI with Pastor Tom DeGroot officiating. Visitation will be at 10:00 AM until service time.
