Constance “Connie” Louise Orban, 73, of Genoa City, Wisconsin, passed away at her home on August 30th, 2026 after a long hard-fought battle with lung cancer. Born in Detroit, Michigan on July 14th, 1953 to parents Raymond and Mae (Sneddon) Opal. She married on December 7th, 1974 in Burlington, Wisconsin to the late Gregory Orban for 52 years.
Connie was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend. Connie took pride in her yard and favorite hobbies of watching John Wayne movies, playing solitaire, crossword puzzling, cross-stitching, and crocheting baby blankets for friends and coworkers. She especially loved her yearly trips to Playa del Carmen, Mexico and Cherokee Village, Arkansas. She was known for her smile and being quick to laugh, a hard worker, always willing to lend a hand and having a positive attitude.
For her career, Connie was Customer Service Representative, first for Brock Equipment, Crystal Lake, Illinois and then for SPX Fluid Power, Rockford, Illinois. Retiring in 2020 after 52 years.
Connie is survived by her son Michael Orban, sister Kristie Smith, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Alan and Melody Orban, and many nieces and nephews.
Connie is preceded in death by her loving husband Greg, her parents Ray and Mae Opal, brother Timothy Opal and brother-in-law Leonard Smith.
Memorial Services for Connie will take place on September 18th, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. at Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Homes and Crematory, 620 Legion Drive, Twin Lakes, WI, 53181. A visitation for Connie will be at the same location starting at 12:00 P.M., until the time of the service. Inurnment will take place immediately after services at Mound Prairie Cemetery, 39000 104th St. Twin Lakes, WI, 53181.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the sender’s favorite charity in Connie’s memory.
