David W. McNichols, 59, of Pleasant Prairie and formerly of Midlothian, Illinois, died April 16, 2020, after a brief battle with cancer. David was born in Evergreen Park, Illinois, on Oct. 2, 1960, to the late Donald and Dorothy (Witt) McNichols.

David graduated from Bremen High School in Midlothian, Illinois. During his professional life, he owned and operated Details by Clint and Dave in Crestwood, Illinois. He later owned the car dealership, Topline Auto, in Oak Forest, Illinois. He also worked as a truck driver for many years.

David's family remembers him as an animated storyteller, who could spin a mundane event into an epic tale. He was a gregarious man who loved to make people laugh with his silly and self-deprecating humor.

During his life, David was an avid boater and was often found cruising the shores of Lake Michigan. David loved everything related to cars and trucks. He collected model cars and routinely bought and sold vehicles.

With his former wife, Shirley Sindt, David raised his two children, Olivia McNichols and Clinton McNichols, in Midlothian and Crestwood, Illinois.

Brother to Donna McNichols, Deborah McNichols, Diana (John) Johnson and Denise (Tom) Marin. Further survived by many nieces and nephews.
