David H. Schmitt age 77 of Elkhorn, WI died on May 3, 2026, at Aurora Lakeland Hospital of Elkhorn, WI. David was born on March 24, 1949, son of the late Henry and Loretta (Schiesher) Schmitt. David spent his life growing up on the family farm and eventually moving into truck driving; owning his own operation for a time, he took much pride in being behind the wheel going by the CB handle of Bullwinkle. David was married to Luellen M. Graham on Mar 26, 1996, in Las Vegas, together they shared many great times and their life. David enjoyed collecting and shooting guns; he created a range in the back yard where he could shoot targets and spent a lot of time out there. He enjoyed taking pictures, mainly of scenery, to share the experiences he had while out on the open road. When he was home, he enjoyed tending to his lawn and landscapes to keep everything looking the way he felt it should. Overall, he had a deep love for his family and was overjoyed the day he became a grandpa and a great grandpa. David was able to bring light-heartedness to every situation with his quick-witted humor and amazing story telling abilities. He was the life of every family gathering and he has passed that trait down to his son and grandchildren. David is survived by his wife; Luellen; children; Joseph (Joan) Schmitt, Nicole Schmitt; grandchildren; Brent (Breanne) Schmitt, Alexander (Paige Vissers) Schmitt, Adrianna (Nicholas Borman) Schmitt; great grandchildren; Oliver, Cian, Ava; and siblings; John Schmitt, Irene (Dan) Krummen, and Linda Mae Schmitt. David is preceded in death by his parents; and sister Jean Schmitt.
