Deborah "Deb" A. Patzold age 70 of Elkhorn, WI died at St. Mary's Hospital of Madison, WI after a short illness surrounded by her family. Deb was born on October 4, 1953; daughter of the late Harold Schlick and Allene L. Schusler. Deb married Robert "Bob" O. Patzold at Chapel on the Hill in Lake Geneva on October 12, 1986. They have since raised a family and spent their lives together. In her younger years, Deb bowled in a weekly league and was even mentioned in the newspaper for bowling a record high series while using a left-handed lane ball. Deb worked within the Elkhorn School District for 23 years; she was always involved in after-school activities such as: volunteering to chaperone school dances, assisting the booster club with crowd control, and the middle school's Tuesday night ski club activities in the winter time. Deb had a gift with the kids at the school; she would provide a different level of comfort to a student that may have had a difficult time opening up or experiencing struggles at home. Deb was always looking after others' well-being. Her level of care was honored by receiving the "Crystal Apple Award," given to outstanding educators who make a difference. Deb was a very social person, and because of this, she took on jobs where she was able to put her social skills to good use while still providing a service. Over the years she took summer jobs, or worked nights and weekends at Moy's, Interlaken, and the Waterfront restaurant. She was always a familiar face and a friendly hello to all the guests she encountered. Deb was also a certified cosmetologist; she assisted the Haase-Lockwood families at the funeral home with hairdressing for over 20 years and very much enjoyed her time spent doing so. In her later years, she took piano lessons, loved going swimming, and spent the majority of her remaining free time adventuring with her beloved dog, Stella. Above all, Deb enjoyed her past trips she took to Florida. She loved her family with all of her heart. She will forever be missed.

Deb is survived by her husband, Bob; sons: Eric (Shannon) Patzold and Chad (Amanda Milligan) Patzold; sister Linnea Schult; nieces: Amy Downing, Bobbi Stienmetz, Crista Schult, and numerous other relatives. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law, Bob Schult.

A Celebration of Life for Deb will be held at the Waterfront Pub & Grill located at 408 State Road 50 Delavan, WI 53115 on Wednesday, July 31st from 4PM to 8PM. All are welcome.

Memorials may be made in Deb's name to the Elkhorn Area School District Education Foundation Endowment Fund to provide learning opportunities and support for students, teachers, and staff within the Elkhorn School District.
