Obituary

Deborah L. Goodman age 65 of the Town of Wheatland, WI. Passed Away August 5, 2014 at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center in Elkhorn. She was born in Chicago, IL in 1949, the daughter of the late Edward "Blackie" and Regina "Jean" (Wilcoski) Goodman. Debbie moved to Wheatland, WI with her family who purchased the Pink House in Twin Lakes, WI.
After graduating from Wilmot High School she went on to attend the Art Institute of Chicago. That artistic training would serve her well as she took an artistic approach in everything from painting custom cars for entry in the Bassett Ha-Ha demolition derby to wrapping gifts to drawing cartoon characters for her child. Her artistic approach continued on to floral arrangements where she spent time working as a florist. That love for flowers and gardening would continue to be a past time of hers for her remaining years.
She spent her early years working at the resort with her family. With a family in the restaurant business, she learned the art of conversation and mixing the best drinks. This career would continue with her uncle Bob and cousin Eddie to Zimmerman's, the Twin Lakes Inn and most recently the Lake Geneva Lanes. During the middle of her career she was especially proud of the time she spent working at the Burlington Standard Press. Debbie loved all the new faces she would meet and the many lasting friendships she developed along the way.
Debbie had a love for fast cars and loud motorcycles. Starting with her first 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge then continuing on with her checkered flag days in the Powder Puff division of the Bassett Ha-Ha and finally with the rumble of a Harley.
She loved taking trips, from Milwaukee to Las Vegas to the Bahamas, to play her fortunes with her family and friends. From one-armed bandits to scratch lottery tickets, she loved the chance of winning big.
Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. Deborah will be forever loved by her son Timothy and his wife Erin Goodman of Burlington, WI and her three grandchildren: Jacob, Ava and Joshua.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, August 11, 2014 at 5:00PM at the Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home and Crematory 620 Legion Dr., Twin Lakes, WI. The family will receive friends from 4:00PM until the time of services. Online condolences may be made at Haaselockwoodfhs.com
