Delores "Bernice" Russell, 81 of Elkhorn, WI, passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, WI.  She was born November 17, 1940 in Glomawr, KY, the daughter of the late Edward and Florence (Brown) Spencer.  Bernice graduated from Waukegan Township High School with the Class of 1959.  She was united in marriage to Bruce A. Russell Sr. on December 28, 1974 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Waukegan, IL.  Bernice was an active member of Southern Lakes Evangelical Free Church of Elkhorn.  Bruce and Bernice were very involved in the Empty Nester Bible Study and their activities.  She operated an in-home day care from 1980 until her retirement in 2002.  Bernice enjoyed her ladies' group, Red Hat Friends. She enjoyed gardening, especially tending to her roses.  Bernice was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who loved to spend as much time with her grandchildren as possible.

Bernice is survived by her husband of 47 years, Bruce, five children: Deborah (Marlo) Pranke, David (Janice) Russell, Kathleen (Edward) Campbell, Rebekah (Michael) Meurer and Bruce Russell Jr., 20 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and one on the way, four siblings: William (Barbara) Fletcher, Stanley (Frances) Fletcher, Velma "Jinnie" (Dale) Gordon and Donald (Bertha) Spencer, many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents and five siblings: Betty Dionne, Barbara Harrison, Phyllis, Robert and Margaret Spencer, and one grandaughter, Angela Russell.

Funeral Service will be 4:00PM on Sunday, March 20, 2022 at Southern Lakes Evangelical Free Church, N6686 US-12 Elkhorn, WI 53121, with Pastor Ken Brummel officiating.  Visitation will be 3:00PM until service time at church on Sunday.  Private Family Interment at Highland Memorial Park in Libertyville, IL on Monday, March 21, at 10:00AM.   Online guest book at www.haaselockwoodfhs.com.  Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Homes and Crematory completed arrangements for the Russell Family.
