Dennis B. Greving, 83 of Elkhorn, WI, passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at his home surrounded by family. He was born in Willey, IA on February 8, 1943, the son of the late Anthony and Loretta (Klocke) Greving. After Dennis graduated high school, he entered the seminary and served as a brother with the La Salette Seminary in Olivet, IL for 17 years. Dennis most recently worked as a welder fabricator for Stuart Tank in Elkhorn for 19 years. He was united in marriage to Geraldine (Copeland) Purcell on September 18, 1982, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Elkhorn, WI. Becoming a dedicated father to all six of her children with warmth and kindness. Dennis was a gifted welder and always started his day by working in his shop or coming up with another creative project idea. One of his greatest projects was his full-size playground including a merry-go-round he built for his grandchildren. Dennis also enjoyed working on farm tractors, farm equipment, going for bike rides, tractor rides, and taking walks or nature hikes with his beloved dog Molly and his cherished family. He also enjoyed fabricating decorative crosses in honor of family members who passed and even made a special trip delivering them to gravesites in Iowa with his grandkids. Dennis was a loving and devoted husband, father, uncle and grandfather.

Dennis is survived by his loving wife Jeri of 43 years, six children: Kevin Purcell, Kirk (Marcie) Purcell, Anne (Glenn) Zenner, Lori (Don) Pearson, Robert (Kristine) Purcell, and Paula (Michael) Schmitz, 18 grandchildren, one great-grandchild on the way, twelve siblings: Leon Greving, Sister Anthony Marie Greving, Leonard (Mary) Greving, Marvin (Linda) Greving, Arthur (Linda) Greving, James (Roberta) Greving, Joan (Tony) Gutzwiller, Brian (Angie) Greving, Rose Ann Beke, Louise (Steve) Hamerle, Therese (Tom) Sibbel, David (Margie) Greving, and two sisters-in-law, Joanne and Marge Greving, and by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his father and Mother-in-law Edward & Kay Copeland whom he was very close with, an infant grandson, Tyler Schmitz, two brothers, Harold and Norbert Greving, sister-in-law, Beth Greving, and brother-in-law, Paul Beke.

On behalf of the family, a special thank you to Aurora hospice care givers, Keith, Joyce and a very special thank you to his grand daughter in law Paige, for the presence, dedication, compassion and tenderness that not only brough comfort to Dennis but to his entire family. We will always be grateful.

Funeral Mass will be 2:30PM on Friday, March 27, 2026, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 107 W. Walworth St. Elkhorn, WI. Visitation will be 1:00PM until service time Friday at the church. Interment will follow services at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Elkhorn, WI. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.
