Dennis M. Kapitan Sr., 78 of Elkhorn, WI, passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Burlington Medical and Rehab Center in Burlington, WI.  He was born November 2, 1938 in North Chicago, IL, the son of the late Lawrence W. and Annette (Nowak) Kapitan.  Dennis married Mary Hren on February 19, 1966 at Mother of the God Church in Waukegan, IL.  He served in the United States Army as a paratrooper from 1961 to 1963.  Dennis was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.  He enjoyed bee keeping and photography.  More than anything, Dennis loved being up north at the cabin in Minnesota.

Dennis is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Mary, six children; Ann (Jeffrey) Toth, Dennis Kapitan Jr.,  Stephen Kapitan, Diane (Michael) Selke, Michael (Tonia Harvel) Kapitan and Mary (Jared) Savage, eight grandchildren; Michael, Elizabeth, Matthew, Samantha, Grace, Dylan, Madison and Mason, sister, Gloria (James) Kazmer, niece, Mary (Jay) Tomczak and an aunt, Rose Zegar.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral Mass will be 11:00AM on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 107 W. Walworth St., Elkhorn, WI, with Father Oriol Regales officiating.  Visitation will be 9:00AM until service time at the church.  Private Burial will be at Ascension Cemetery in Libertyville, IL.
