Obituary

Dianne J. Knutson, 65, of Elkhorn, WI, On December 17, 2021, our Lord called another Angel home. Dianne passed away unexpectedly at home with her best friend and husband of 43 years at her side.

Although born in the city, she was 100% a country girl.  She treasured her formative years growing up on the farm in Sturtevant, Wisconsin with her sisters and her cousins. Here is where she learned about animals, gardening, cooking, hard work and responsibility.  There was a rarely a green plant that she couldn't nurture back to health.  Her flower beds at home were always a prideful labor of love.  She was an avid birder.  She possessed a skill of attracting and keeping so many species of birds (especially her favorite, the bluebird.)

She loved the wildlife that visited her yards and was a volunteer at the Lakeland Animal Shelter, until her mobility issues confined her.  All of the dogs in her life supplied a constant source of joy and satisfaction.  Yukon still waits for her to come home.  Dianne was also an avid reader of novels.  She was an incredible cook, seemingly able to serve a dinner on short notice, always able to improvise.

Dianne's lasting legacy is defined by her loving relationships with her family, close friends and former co-workers.  She was fondly known as "Mama Bear."  To meet her, was to love her.  She is survived by her husband, Raymond Knutson Jr., three children; Steven Knutson of Elkhorn, WI, Joshua (Janet) Knutson of Racine, WI and Darcy (Jason) Paproth of Kenosha, WI, seven grandchildren; Emma, Landen, Tristan, Raylan, Owen, Ella and Freddie and her three siblings; Karen (Mark) Kenny of Kenosha, WI, Julie (Craig) Olejiviczak of Racine, WI and JoEllen Langenfeld of Burlington, WI.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Delores Langenfeld, grandparents; William and Louise Harmann and father-in-law, Raymond Knutson Sr.  We will all miss her dearly, but her passing is part of God's plan we cannot understand.

The family would like to invite everyone to a celebration of Dianne's life on Thursday, December 30, 2021 from 11AM to 2PM at Evergreen Country Club on Hwy 12/67 in Elkhorn.  Lunch will be served beginning at 12:30PM.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to National Audubon Society-Great Lakes 125 S. Wacker Dr. Suite # 2125 Chicago, IL 60606, The Arthritis Foundation of Wisconsin 10427 W. Lincoln Ave. West Allis, WI, or Lakeland Animal Shelter PO Box 1000 Elkhorn, WI.  On-line guestbook is at www.haaselockwoodfhs.com.
