IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Donald "Don"
Alvin Dove
October 25, 1932 – February 7, 2022
Donald A. Dove, 89 of East Troy, WI, passed away and went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, February 7, 2022 at East Troy Manor, East Troy, WI. He was born October 25, 1932 in Antioch, IL, the son of the late Herbert and Florence Dove. Don was united in marriage to Patricia "Patti" H. Dove on January 24, 1981 at Gurnee Community Church in Gurnee, IL.
He wore many hats including being a Veteran of the Korean war and a volunteer fireman in his early years. He grew up in the city of Chicago, but loved spending summers on a farm in Michigan. It was here he learned how to play the guitar and master the art of the yodel. At 19, he won second prize on the Colgate Radio Show and made an album.
He raised his children with music in the home. There was the Patridge Family, and then there was the Dove Family. Don's children grew up singing in the kitchen banging on the pots and pans.
He came to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ later on in life and turned his musical gifts to being a worship leader. He met his beloved wife Patti who loved the Lord and music as well. Together they served faithfully in the church leading worship and providing marriage counseling. Their love for the Lord was the foundation of their life and marriage. He faithfully prayed for his family everyday.
He loved to fish and root for the Green Bay Packers. He had a great sense of humor that made all who knew him laugh. He was a faithful husband who took care of his beloved wife Patti as long as he was able to and cherished being by her side.
Don was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Don is survived by his 4 children; Cathy (Larry) Stigsell of WI, Susan (Sam) Salerno of AZ, Robert Dove of CA, David Dove of WI, and Angela Dove TX; 9 grandchildren; Philip Zoul, Andrea Scheel, Ryan and Laura Zoul, Courtney Tucker, Benjamin Riechert, David and Cierra Dove and Payton Mullins, 12 great-grandchildren. 5 stepchildren; Ginean (Anthony) McLaughlin, Ruth Beck, James (Maureen) Holcomb, Michelle (James) Del Boccio, Rebecca (Trent) Cowart, 12 step-grandchildren; Neil and Anthony Haugen, Edward Paul, Tiffany Hall, Amy Smith, Ryan Holcomb, Kelly Bedrossian, Kenny Broyles, Leah Getzen, Emma, Nolan and Ava Cowart, 16 step greatgrandchildren.
