Donald L. Kunkel, 87 of Potter Road Elkhorn, WI died peacefully Sunday September 11, 2016.  He was born May 2, 1929 in Evanston, IL the son of the late Lloyd C. and Mildred (Ellens) Kunkel.  On October 28, 1972 he was united in marriage to Cheryl A. Karbowski in Elkhorn, WI. Don served in the US Army from August 6, 1953 until June 13, 1955. He graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy, and was as a Pharmacist for over 50 years; He owned and operated Kunkel Pharmacy in Elkhorn for over 30 years from 1965 to 1995, and is remembered as a kind and generous man. Don was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Kiwanis Club, and Moose Lodge; and served as a general leader of the Elkhorn 4-H club. He enjoyed golfing, gardening, and playing ping-pong; was an avid fisherman and founder of the Lake Geneva Fishing Club. Don was a devoted loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who will be deeply missed by his wife of 43 years, Cheryl; six children, Laurie Kunkel-Jordan, Susan (Gary) Wagner both of Elkhorn, WI, Donald Joseph Ryan of Lantana, FL, Michael Kunkel of Burlington, WI, Jennifer (Jeff) Carlson of Brookfield, WI and Andrew (Jessica) of Lake Geneva, WI; ten grandchildren, Joey, Matthew, Whittney, Mackenzie, Donald Joseph Jr., Joshua, Haylee, Nathan, Megan and Rawley; five great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.  Memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday September 17 at St. Patrick Catholic Church 107 W.
