Dorothy "Dottie" H. Moehling

Dorothy “Dottie” H. Moehling, 90 of Burlington, WI, passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at Arbor View in Burlington. She was born on December 25, 1935, in Evanston, IL, the daughter of the late James and Helene (Filip) McGowan. Dottie was united in marriage to Marvin Moehling on March 27, 1955, in Palatine, IL. She was gifted in the arts, whether she was painting, cake decorating, knitting or crocheting. Dottie enjoyed teaching her art through the 4-H, recreational programs, school, and prison. She also enjoyed her years as bus driver with the Westfield School District. Dottie made many wedding cakes throughout the years, and it would be a family team effort of safely transporting them to their destinations. She shared her love through her talents. Dottie cherished all of her dogs and cats throughout the years. Dottie was a loving and devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Dottie is survived by her five children, Glenn (Cindy) Moehling, Marlene (Rick) Schmidt, Richard (Kathy) Moehling, Phyllis (Jeff) Rice, and Christy (Paul) Markunas, twelve grandchildren, April, Nicholas (Elizabeth), Katie, Paul, Krystle, Chris, Samantha (John), Abby, Michelle (Josh), Karissa (Riley), David, and Elizabeth, and seventeen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Marvin, and two siblings, James McGowan and Helene “Peaches” Williamson.

Memorial Service will be 1:45PM on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Homes, 730 N. Wisconsin St. Elkhorn, WI. Visitation will be 1:00PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
