Obituary

Elkhorn: Eaba Botma; 91 of Elkhorn, WI died Wednesday September 23, 2015 at Lakeland Health Care Center Elkhorn, WI.  He was born June 19, 1924 in Marrum Friesland Netherlands, the son of the late Ruurd and Sietske (Offringa) Botma. Eaba served in the Dutch Underground during WWII.  He came to the United States in June of 1949.  He was united in marriage to Dorothy Boersma from 1950 until 1983.  On April 3, 1985 he married the former Norma H. Brown in Whitewater, WI.  Eaba farmed in the Elkhorn and Delavan area for over 25 years.  He was the caretaker for the Green Gables Estate on Lake Geneva for over 14 years, he drove school bus for Lenon Bus Service for over 15 years retiring in 2000.  Eaba was an avid Wisconsin sports fan, cheering on the Badgers, Packers and Brewers, he enjoyed watching the Delavan Darien High School Sports as well.  He enjoyed a good game of Chess, but his greatest joy in life was his family, he was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who will be deeply missed by his family who include his wife Norma, Three children; Sady (Gordy) Downing, Marion (Tim) Scott all of Delavan, WI and Bob (Gloria) Botma of Kenosha, WI.  One step-son; Bruce Oleson of Elkhorn, WI. Six grandchildren; Renee, Richard, Belinda, Brenda, Abigail and Andrea, Two great-grandchildren; Helen and Hendrik.  One sister; Anneke Fekkes of the Netherlands, Three Brothers; Ruurd (Aafke) Botma of the Netherlands, Durk (Dingena) Botma and Sjuk (Sophie) Botma all of Ontario, Canada and by a host of other relatives and friends and his dog Buster Brown.  Eaba is preceded in death by his parents, two sons, John and Richard, one daughter, Vivian, Two brothers and seven sisters.  Memorial service will be 12:00 PM (Noon) Monday September 28, 2015 at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church 1101 Logan Street Lake Geneva, WI with Rev. Peter Metzger officiating.  Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery Tibbets, WI.  Visitation will be at the church on Monday from 10:00 am until time of service.
