Edward D. Kelm, 63 of Elkhorn, WI, died peacefully on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at Aurora Lakeland Hospital in Elkhorn, WI. He was born on June 25, 1952 in Milwaukee, WI, the son of Edward and Nellie (Wierschke) Kelm. Ed was united in marriage to Linda Peters on January 28, 1977 in Elkhorn, WI. Ed enjoyed fishing and photography until his illness made these enjoyments impossible. He served on Kenworth Drivers Advisory Board. Ed was a "Trucker Buddy" for April 1995, communicating with two schools through letters, post cards and photographs while driving his delivery routes. His greatest pleasure was visiting 5th grade Brighton Public School in Kansasville, WI and being interviewed by the Milwaukee Journal after receiving his 1995 award. His other school children were from Public School No. 5 in New York City.
Ed is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Linda, two step-daughters, Lesa (Ken) Reek and Laura (Dan) Duchemin, two step-granddaughters, Ashley Duchemin and Heather (Michael) Warren, three step-great-grandchildren, Julia, Hunter and future great-grandson Warren, brother, David (Pam) Kelm, niece, Amanda (Darren) Engras, great-nephew Devon Engras, three sister-in-laws, Mary Dade, Betty (Emmett) Thompson and Marge Beers, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Nellie, many aunts, uncles, brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws.
Memorial Service will be 6:00PM on Friday, March 18, 2016 at Haase- Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home and Crematory, 730 N Wisconsin St. Elkhorn, WI with Rev. Dr. Scott McLeod officiating. Visitation will be 4:00PM until service time Friday at the funeral home. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Roselawn Memory Gardens.
