Edward C. Moder III of Twin Lakes, WI., passed away at home with his loving wife by his side on August 5th, 2026. Ed was born in Chicago, IL., on June 18th, 1945, to his parents Edward Jr., and Margaret (Kelly) Moder. Ed married the love of his life Connie VanTreeck on June 7th, 1969 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Port Washington, WI.
Ed was dedicated to his family. He traveled the world with Connie, their children and became the family tour director for the Van Clan. He was the catalyst that kept and brought the family together. The unity that the family shows today can be traced back to the adventures that they have shared via these travels.
Ed had a hunger for knowledge, his favorite topics were geography, astronomy and statistics. He was truly a lifelong learner. He enjoyed talking with people to learn about different topics. He thrived at sharing his knowledge. His friends and family were always impressed when he explained the principles of astronomy, or the statistics of house odds for various gambling games.
His most recent passion was collecting the history of movies. He enjoyed watching, talking about and recording information about all genres.
Despite being born in Chicago, he became a life long Green Bay Packer fan.
Ed was known for following the right path instead of the normal path. “Just because everyone else does it, doesn’t mean that’s the right thing to do”.
Ed is survived by his loving wife, Connie, his children; Ed (Kimberly) Moder, Michael (Stacy) Moder, Patty (Mike) Hultquist, and his grandchildren Amber (Tom), Logan, Eddie (Lauren), Michael, Tiana, and Jaidyn. He is further survived by his sister, Pat (Steve) Benson, brother-in-law Tom Schell, and sister-in-law Sandy Young.
Ed is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Tim and sister Margo.
In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Ed's name to your favorite charity.
A celebration of life and prayer service, will be held for Ed on August 28th, 2026, at 10:00 A.M. at Haase-Lockwood Funeral Home 620 Legion Dr. Twin Lakes, WI., 53181. Haase-Lockwood & Associates are proud to serve the Moder family.
