Edward Henry Sontowski, age 73, of Como (Lake Geneva), WI, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at Mercyhealth Hospital in Janesville. Son of the late Henry and Agnes (Baker) Sontowski, Ed was born on June 16, 1950, in Chicago, IL. He graduated from Lane Tech High School and went on to work as a machinist in the tool and die industry. On September 25, 1976, Ed was united in marriage to Cynthia Dilla in Chicago.

Ed found joy in the simple pleasures of life, like casting a line into a tranquil lake, tending to his garden, or embarking on camping trips or memorable family vacations to Florida. An avid supporter of the Chicago Cubs and Bears, he reveled in the victories and endured the defeats with unwavering loyalty. Known for his easy-going nature, Ed had a remarkable ability to connect with people from all walks of life. He was a social butterfly who effortlessly navigated conversations with a genuine interest in others. His friendly demeanor, approachable nature, and distinctive laugh made him a cherished presence in any gathering. Ed was also an animal lover who opened his heart and home to many furry and feathered companions over the years. Above all else, Ed loved his family and time spent together was especially precious to him.

Ed is survived by his devoted wife of 47 years, Cynthia Sontowski; beloved daughters, Meredith (Robert) Estrada and Sara (Michael) Rainey; granddaughters, Ava and Annalise; Godchildren, Stephanie, Stephan, and Christopher; as well as numerous sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and nieces and nephews. In death, he is reunited with his parents, Henry and Agnes Sontowski.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Monday, January 15, 2024, from 10:00AM until 12:00PM at Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home, 730 N. Wisconsin St., Elkhorn, WI. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at noon. Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home and Crematory of Elkhorn are honored to serve the Sontowski family.
