Eileen M Johnson

Eileen M. Johnson, 93, of Kaukauna, Wisconsin, passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2026, surrounded by her family.

Born on January 28, 1933, Eileen was the oldest daughter of Michael and Anna (LaVelle) Murphy. She grew up in Chicago with her sister, Annette Frank, and brother, John Murphy, and was an especially proud Bears and Cubs fan. She attended Immaculata High School, graduating in 1950.

On May 22, 1954, she married Thomas Johnson at Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Chicago. They made their home in Twin Lakes, Wisconsin, where together they raised five children. Tom taught Eileen how to drive using one foot, but she preferred using both. She was a devoted stay-at-home mom until 1971, when she began working at Vessel’s Grocery Store. She later worked at Twin Lakes State Bank (despite claiming she was bad at math) until her retirement.

Eileen was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the Fire Department Auxiliary, and an election poll volunteer.

In 2006, she moved north to Kaukauna, where she spent the last 20 years of her life. There, Eileen served as a reading volunteer in the Kaukauna School District. She remained an even prouder Bears fan and never thought she would live to see the Cubs Win the World Series, but miracles do happen.

Eileen is survived by her children: Diane (Gary) Vosters, Phil (Cindy) Johnson, Lynn (Bob) Kasper, Chris (Lynn) Johnson, and Mike (Julie) Johnson. She is also survived by her grandchildren, whom she loved way more than her own kids: Christine (Josh) Robinson, AJ (Jackie) Johnson, Tara (Nick) Aures, Kaitlyn (Michael) Kasper, Cullen (Jessie) Johnson, Keely Johnson, Kendal Johnson, Nicole (Derek) Johnson, and Logan Johnson. She was a great grandma to Amos, Caroline, Walt, Charlotte, Tallula, and Freya, all of whom lovingly knew her as “GG.” Further survived by her brother John Murphy (and the late Josephine).

Eileen was preceded in death by her husband Tom, her grandson Andy Johnson, her son-in-law Ken Lemke, and her sister Annette Frank.

The family will welcome friends and relatives on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Twin Lakes, Wisconsin, from 10:00 a.m. until noon. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at noon, followed by interment at St. John’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home and Crematory of Twin Lakes, WI is honored to serve the Johnson family.
