Elizabeth E. Neises, age 88, of Phoenix, AZ, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 4, 2025, at Bethesda Gardens Assisted Living Facility in Phoenix, AZ. Elizabeth was born on December 27, 1936, in Chicago, IL, and was the daughter of the late Joseph Kuknyo and Helen Dagg.
Elizabeth graduated from High School in Chicago, IL. She was united in marriage to Gerald J. Neises, a Firefighter for the City of Chicago, on August 2, 1958, in Chicago, IL. Together they were blessed with two children – Jeffrey, born in 1959 and Gregory, born in 1960.
Elizabeth and Jerry moved to Powers Lake, Wisconsin in 1968 after purchasing The Village Inn Supper Club in Twin Lakes, Wisconsin. While Jerry remained a full-time Firefighter in Chicago, Elizabeth led the management of the thriving business. She took pride in having both of her sons, along with many of their friends, work part-time at the restaurant while they were in High School. Elizabeth enjoyed taking an active role in the Community. She was a co-founder of the Twin Lakes Chamber of Commerce and one of the original Twin Lakes Country Club's Red Barnettes; a women's golf league. After selling the restaurant in 1975, she held several positions in the community including working at the Wilmot Mountain Ski Hills and the Red Barn at Twin Lakes Country Club. In 1978 the family moved to Phoenix, AZ. There Elizabeth received her Real Estate license and eventually became a licensed Broker. In 1997 she was named Director of the Arizona Association of Realtors. In Retirement, she continued her work in community development by serving in many roles on her Retirement Community's Board of Directors. She was an active member of Resurrection Lutheran Church in Phoenix.
Elizabeth enjoyed traveling, golfing, playing cards and entertaining. She was an avid Chicago Bears fan. She loved her family and friends; nothing made her happier than spending time with her granddaughter, Vanessa. Elizabeth will forever be remembered for being outgoing and always having a beautiful smile.
Elizabeth is survived by her son Jeffrey (Jo Anne) Neises of Phoenix, AZ and Twin Lakes, WI. She is further survived by her sister Barbara Workman, CA, along with nephews and cousins. She was proceeded in death by her husband Jerry, son Gregory, Granddaughter Vanessa and sister Carolyn.
A celebration of Elizabeth's Life will be held at a later date.
