Elkhorn: Father Harry J. Walsh Jr. 79, of Elkhorn, WI died Saturday January 17, 2015 at Holton Manor Nursing Home Elkhorn, WI. Harry was born on the West Side of Chicago, IL on November 01, 1935 the son of the late Harry J. and Gladys (Carlson) Walsh Sr. At the age of 13, he entered the minor seminary of the Servite friars. At the age of 15 (1950) he became a Trappist monk at the Abbey of Gethsemani in Kentucky. Leaving the Trappists in 1962, he joined the Chicago Police Department, rising through the various ranks; he retired in 1982 as Chief of Police in Buffalo Grove, IL, having served as Chief for 10 years. In 1978 Harry was ordained as a priest in the Episcopal Church USA, his last parish before coming part of the Charismatic Episcopal Church was the Christ Episcopal Church of Delavan from 1987 to 1997. He currently was the Priest in Residence of the Bread of Life Charismatic Episcopal Church of Dousman, WI. Harry had many interests including family genealogy, participant in Civil War reenactments, member of the Rotary Club, he was a graduate of the FBI Academy, and He enjoyed working with the clients at VIP Services of Elkhorn, WI. He enjoyed his family who will miss him deeply. Harry is survived by his wife of 37 years, Phyllis. Six children; Sheila Chapman of Schaumburg, IL, Kevin (Stella) Walsh of Las Vegas, NV, Elizabeth Walsh of Delavan, WI, Margaret Piecuch of Mundelein, IL, Gregory (Cathy) Mack of Grayslake, IL and Peter (Teresa) Mack of Tampa, FL, Nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild, one brother; Gerald (Kathy) Walsh of Madrid, IA. Harry was preceded in death by his parents, one sister; Constance Lyons and one grandson; Bryan Patrick Gersh. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Thursday January 22, 2015 at the Bread of Life Charismatic Episcopal Church 214 Grove Street Dousman, WI with The Most Rev. Michael Davidson, Bishop of the Central Diocese officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home and Crematory 730 N.
