Frank J Ehlert

Frank John Ehlert, 90 of Wilmot passed away on Friday September 25, 2026 at his residence. He was born April 9, 1936 at his family's homestead in Spring Grove, IL, the son of the late Frank and Flavia (Harms) Ehlert. He lived in Wilmot his entire life. On May 30, 1959 he was united in marriage to the love of his life JoAnn Deegan, at St. Peter’s Church in Antioch, and she preceded him in death on March 23, 2022. Frank worked for many years in road construction in Kenosha. For 14 years Frank worked the night crew making snow at Wilmot Mountain. Frank worked for 37 years for the Salem Township Highway Department from May of 1964 to April of 2001. In his earlier years he and JoAnn were members of the Bi-State Trail Drifters snowmobile club for 10 years. Frank and JoAnn purchased a second home in Eagle River, WI where they enjoyed fishing, feeding the deer and visiting the casinos. He always made time to watch the Chicago Cubs or a Green Bay Packer game. He will be remembered for washing his cars and sitting in his chair in his garage watching the traffic go by. You could always count on Frank to greet the little ones with a gentle, affectionate pinch on the cheek.

Frank is survived by his children, Scott (Andrea) Ehlert, Stacey “Sam” (June) Ehlert, and Shelly (Thomas) Reichwein. Grandfather to Thomas (Drea) Reichwein, Jamie (Brian) Wilson, Miranda (Adam) Frank, Justice (Taylor) Reichwein, Mikayla (Pete Andrew) Ehlert. Great Grandfather to Brock, Korbin, & Presley Reichwein, Harper & Hudson Reichwein and Theoden Frank. Step-Grandfather to Nicholas and Melissa Galvin, Justine and Thomas (Abe) Burrell, Joshua and Bria Galvin, Brennan Galvin, Niall and Jamie Galvin. Step Great Grandfather to Ava Stittgen, Terrence, Everly, Theo, Alexandria, & Isaish Glavin and Brady Galvin. In addition to his parents and his wife, JoAnn, he was preceded in death by his siblings Nelva Lynn, Gloria Brown, Robert Ehlert, Marlin “Bud” Ehlert, and Phyllis Gerber. A special thank you to Brianna Brown for helping make his final days comfortable.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday November 14, 2026, from 1:00PM until 5:00PM at the Wilmot Fire Dept 30400 Wilmot Rd. Salem, WI. 53168. The Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home and Crematory of Twin Lakes, WI is honored to serve the Ehlert family.
