Frank E. Nappe, 88 of Elkhorn, WI, died Thursday, April 14, 2016 at Lakeland Health Care Center in Elkhorn, WI. Frank was born June 27, 1927 in Elkhorn, WI the son of late Alfred H. and Harriette (Hull) Nappe. Frank graduated from Elkhorn High School with the Class of 1945. He enlisted into the US Navy May 9, 1945 and was discharged on July 26, 1946. After basic training at Great Lakes he was assigned to the USS Lassen with a tour duty in the Philippines. He was united in marriage to the former Mary Eleanor Clauer in Elkhorn, WI on September 18, 1948. Frank was the third generation to work for the US Post Office as a letter carrier, he was with the post office for over 39 years retiring in 1982. He didn't sit idle after retirement he continued to paint houses and then he drove cars to different dealerships for Tasch Automotive. Frank was a past commander of the Elkhorn American Legion Post #6375 and a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Elkhorn. He enjoyed woodworking, betting on the ponies and Greyhounds. He coached and umpired many little league baseball games. He enjoyed the Green Bay Packers, and Wisconsin Badgers. He really enjoyed attending his grandchildren's musical activities and sporting events. He could always be found in the stands at the Elkhorn Elk's basketball or football games. One of Frank's fondest memories was the Honor Flight that he took to Washington, DC three years ago. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be deeply missed by his wife of 67 years Eleanor, three children; Donald (Jan) Nappe of Cudahy, WI, Diane (Chuck) Wuttke and Debbie Wuhrman all of Elkhorn, WI, six grandchildren; Jennifer Nappe and Lori (Matt Zembrowski) Nappe, Chad (Sarah Tauchen) Wuttke, Kristin (Cory) Aune, Tim (Jacey) Wuhrman and Jamie Wuhrman, four great-grandchildren; Carson, Caleigh, Caden and Ashlyn. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, infant brother and his son-in-law Gary Wuhrman. Funeral services will be 12:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 19, 2015 at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 415 S. Devendorf Street Elkhorn, WI, with Pastor David C. Rau officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday at church from 10:00 A.M. until time of service. Interment with military honors will be at Hazel Ridge Cemetery Elkhorn, WI. Online guest book at www.haaselockwoodfhs.com.
