Gary L. Grolle, 81, passed away on December 28, 2025.  He was born on September 12, 1944 in Bowling Green, Ohio to Arnold and Katherine (Brown) Grolle. A dedicated son and husband, Gary leaves behind a legacy marked by his profound contributions to both his community and his profession. On December 24, 1967 (Christmas Eve) in Perrysburg, Ohio he was united in marriage to Cheryl Moon.

Gary initially attended the University of Michigan's School of Music in 1962 but graduated from there in PreLaw in 1966. He not only excelled academically but also continued showcasing his musical talent by playing percussion in the University of Michigan Marching Band (Drumline & percussion), Gilbert & Sullivan Emsemble, and orchestra. After UofM, he graduated in 1969 from Boston College Law School and became a licensed attorney in Massachusetts, Illinois and Florida. Throughout his legal career, Gary served with great distinction in various roles, including as Regional Counsel for Honeywell, General Counsel for Zurich American Inc., Bunker Ramo, and General Counsel for Dr. Scholl. In addition, he served after retiring from his legal career as an Arbitrator for American Arbitration Assn., as a Mediator for Conflict Resolution Assn. and FINRA. His commitment to public service was also evident in his membership and active participation as a Real Estate Agent over many years in both Wisconsin and Illinois.

His love of music spanned his lifetime. After he granduated from law school he was transferred by Honeywell to Chicago, Illinois.  He performed with his local community in the Deerfield (IL) Community Band and later as a performer and former President of the Lakeshore Symphony Orchestra (Chicago). After moving to Wisconsin, he performed with the Burlington Kiwanis Band for their summer park performances in Echo Park. The other passion in his life was Sailing. He sailed in many Chicago to Mackinaw races, as well as weekend races on his vintage boat "Valkyrie" at the Chicago Yacht Club where he showcased his writing skills in the club's magazine "The Blinker" as a contributing editor.

An engaged volunteer member, Gary was proud to be a part of the Genoa City Lions Club for 21 years. He participated in their many events from highway clean-up, Genoa City Days, Easter Egg hunt, and his particular favorite Santa's Visit to Lakeland School in Elkhorn. Additionally, he was a dedicated member of the Republican Party of Walworth County. He served on the Bloomfield Fire & Police Commission, the Jt. Bloomfield Genoa City Fire Commission, was Bloomfield Village President and a Bloomfield Village Trustee for several years.

His faith was also an integral part of his life. His favorite saying was "Do What Is Right, Not What's Always Easy". He was a member of Trinity Church in the Village of Bloomfield (Pell Lake), Wisconsin.

Gary is survived by his beloved wife, Cheryl, of 58 years along with cherished family members including his brothers-in-law, Mark Moon and Neil Moon (Kelly), and sister-in-law, Pat Moon. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold Grolle and Catherine (Brown) Grolle, whose influence shaped his journey.

A Memorial Service will be held on January 17, 2026, at 3:00PM at Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home and Crematory, located at 620 Legion Dr, Twin Lakes, Wisconsin. Visitation will be held from 1:00PM until the time of services at the funerral home. His remarkable spirit, dedication, and legacy will forever resonate in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
