Gary M. Kamenick

March 19, 1961 – February 28, 2025

Gary Kamenick, 63 of Elkhorn, WI, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2025.  Born March 19, 1961, in Presidio, CA to the late Natalie (Stille) and LaVerne Kamenick.   Gary's family moved to Elkhorn when he was young, and Gary remained a lifelong resident of Elkhorn.

Gary owned and operated Kamenick Creative Builders and enjoyed remodeling and building homes for his clients, who also became lifelong friends. When not working, Gary liked to spend time with family and friends.  Gary's eyes lit up when talking about his sons.   Gary enjoyed fishing in Canada and snow goose hunting in South Dakota, but Gary's favorite time of year was deer hunting season which was spent at Camp Turkey in Brule, WI.  He was able to share his passion for hunting with his father, sons, cousins and good friends.

Gary is survived by his partner Cheryl Zielinski, sons Drew (Brianna Bader) and Tyler (Nyssa Metze), bonus son Kyle Zielinski, sister Kathy (Fran) Arendt, brother Ken (Cheri Schremp) and his loyal companion Deuce.   Gary is also survived by his best friend and cousin Joe Wickingson, many aunts and uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to thank all their family and friends for their support during Gary's illness, especially Diane Lindenberg whose unwavering support and comfort was deeply appreciated.   The well wishes, visits, food and gifts were very much appreciated.   The kindness that was shown is a tribute to what a great friend Gary was to many.  Thank you to the staff of the University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center, Mercy Health & East Troy Manor for the care Gary received during his illness.

A celebration of life will be held on April 5, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Pitstop 67, N6444 US-12, Elkhorn, WI 53121.
