Gary Walter, age 88, of Elkhorn, WI, passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2024. Son of the late Stewart and Julia (Streit) Walter, Gary was born on May 13, 1936, in Queen, PA. Gary enlisted in the United States Navy right out of high school and served his country honorably. He was a longtime member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Elkhorn. On July 4, 1963, Gary was united in marriage to Kay McCann at St. Pat's, and the couple went on to raise three children together. To say that Gary was an avid sports fan would be an understatement. He loved to root for his Wisconsin teams including the Brewers, Bucks, and of course, the Green Bay Packers. In his younger years, Gary enjoyed going out to games, even attending 20-30 games in a single year.

Gary is survived by his loving wife of nearly 61 years, Kay Walters; children Steve and Mark Walters; grandchildren, Alex and Alvin Vinson, Marlene Walters, and Philip Redman; and sister, Helene Piantino. In death, he is reunited with his daughter, Michelle Simmons; siblings, Edward, Robert, and Leon Walter and Josephine Biddle; daughter-in-law, Dawn Walters; and parents, Stewart and Julia Walter.

A celebration of life will be held by the Walters family in the near future. Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Homes and Crematory of Elkhorn is honored to serve the Walters family.
