Gene P. Szymanski, age 76 of Salem Lakes, WI, died February 21, 2021.  He was born in Cicero, IL on February 28, 1944, son of the late Eugene and Sylvia (Neopolski) Szymanski.   On May 7, 1989, at Navy Pier in Chicago, IL, he was united in marriage to Sandi Peters.  He worked for many years at the Southern Wisconsin Center as a caregiver.  During his life he also worked in the emergency rooms at Aurora and St. Catherine Hospitals.  Gene was a past member of the Paris Rescue Squad.  He also spent time in the past working as a Deputy Medical Examiner for the Kenosha County Medical Examiner's Office.

He is survived by his wife Sandi, father of John and James, brother of Patt Simmons.  Gene was preceded in death by his daughter, Jessie.
