Geraldine "Geri" E. Butzen age 76 of Lake Geneva, WI passed away Saturday February 21, 2015. Geri was born on June 27, 1938 in Chicago, daughter of the late Joseph and Mae Szpak. She was married to James Butzen on November 5, 1960 in Chicago until the time of his passing in September of 2014. Geri and her husband moved to the Lake Geneva area in the 80's and have lived here since. Geri was very outgoing and open hearted; she enjoyed traveling with her husband, baking, planting, listening to Frank Sinatra, and spending time with her grandkids. In her earlier years she was a member of the USO, Mother's Club, and was a den mother with the boy scouts. Geri is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mae; husband of 53 years James; daughter-in-law Kelly; and siblings Beverly Hynous and Richard "Sonny" Szpak. Geri is survived by her three children, Steven (Julie) Butzen of New Berlin, Robert (decedent Kelly) Butzen of Elkhorn, and James (Pamela) Butzen of Elkhorn; four grandchildren: Steven, Hunter, Rachael, and Katherine; and three siblings; Daniel "Danny" Szpak, Shirley Limbaugh, and Suzy Cerminaro. A visitation will be held for Geri on Thursday February 26, 2015 at Hasse-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home 730 N. Wisconsin Street, Elkhorn, WI from 4:30PM to 7:00PM. Funeral Service will take place the following day, Friday February 27th at 12:30PM following a gathering starting at 12(Noon) at the Funeral Home.
