Gordon Goodman, formerly of Genoa City, WI, passed away suddenly August 29, 2023, at age 77.

Gordy is survived by his mother, Charlene Eddy, and brothers Mathew Goodman and Scott (Ellen) Eddy. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, father, stepfather, brother Gregory, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Gordon earned his bachelor's degree from UW-Stevens Point and a Masters in education from Wayne State College in Nebraska.

Gordy had a passion for baseball. If you ever attended a game with him, you could count on staying until the last out of the final inning regardless of the weather conditions or what the score might be. In addition to playing sports throughout his life he enjoyed coaching and developing younger players. Gordy's love of participating in sports was exceeded only by his commitment to collecting sports related memorabilia. Baseball, football, and basketball – basically anything and everything sports related. And did we mention antiques?

Gordy also had the "gift of gab". He would happily tell you the details of his latest prized sports memorabilia acquisition, a play-by-play accounting of the latest game he saw, his most recent trip, or a summary of the book he had just finished reading.

A celebration of Gordon's life will be held on Saturday October 28, 2023, at Haase- Lockwood Funeral Home, 113 Freeman St., Genoa City, WI at 2:00PM.
