Gordon P. Smith age 86 of Elkhorn, WI died on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at Fairhaven of Whitewater, WI surrounded by his loving family. Gordon was born on September 24, 1936; son of the late Albert Smith and Theresa (Braun) Smith. After graduating from Whitewater High School in 1955, he married Alyce Robinson on December 21, 1957 at the LaGrange United Methodist Church. Together they raised their family, beef cattle, and purebred Shropshire sheep at Cedar Bend Farm. With the help of their children, they established Cedar Bend Produce. Over the years, many of their customers became dear friends. Gordon had a love for Polka Music. He and Alyce spent many years dancing together. Gordon was a 50-year member of the Lauderdale LaGrange Fire Department; his honorable time served will forever be remembered. Above all else, Gordon deeply loved his family; and very much enjoyed visiting with his friends. Gordon is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Alyce; and his brother; Robert (Jody) Smith. He is survived by his children; Steven (Trula) Smith, Lisa (Peter) Koss, Alan (Jackie) Smith; grandchildren; Michael Smith, Daniel (Alexis Reese) Smith, Marcus Smith, Hannah Koss; a great grandchild on the way, Stella Smith; and a very special friend, Carol Lockhart. The family would like to thank the Fairhaven Staff for their loving care and compassion. A Memorial Service for Gordon will take place at LaGrange United Methodist Church N8548 County Road H Whitewater, WI 53190 on Friday June 2 nd at 6:00PM, officiated by Pastor Robert Yarbrough. Visitation will take place before the service, beginning at 3:00PM.  Gordon will be laid to rest next to Alyce in Round Prairie Cemetery following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Gordon's name to LaGrange United Methodist Church N8548 County Road H Whitewater, WI 53190; or to the Lauderdale LaGrange Fire Department W6080 US-12 Whitewater, WI 53190.
