Obituary

Gwendolyn E. Keller, age 80, of Genoa City, WI, died on Thursday, July 14, 2022, at Aurora Medical Center Burlington. Daughter of the late Gilbert and Pauline (Armstrong) McNamer, Gwen was born on July 7, 1942, in Richland Center, WI. She graduated from North Boone High School in 1960. On January 27, 1962, Gwen was united in marriage with Raymond Keller in Woodstock, IL, while Raymond was serving in the United States Navy. The couple bought their home in Genoa City shortly thereafter and shared nearly 50 years of marriage before his passing on January 12, 2012.

Gwen had many illustrious careers throughout her life, and she touched and made friends with everyone around her. She worked in factories, a nursing home, at a restaurant as a bartender, and was a matron for the Genoa City and Bloomfield Police Departments. For 20 years she did snowmobile education courses for the Genoasnoers, and she was a Cub Scout leader in her community. Her most important and beloved job was being the mother of two sons, Scott and Ken. Gwen was very involved with her children—designing Halloween costumes, cheerleading at their sporting events, and instilling in them valuable life skills, common sense, and respect.

Gwen delighted in many of life's simple pleasures such as gardening, baking, and family bike rides. She enjoyed camping, hunting, and snowmobiling with her family. She also liked puzzles, collecting things, and had been an avid NASCAR fan since the early '90s. Gwen cooked excellent meals for family gatherings, crocheted scarves, hats, and mittens for everyone, sewed clothes, and taught her sons to mend their own socks.

Gwen was a caring and supportive wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be sorely missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her sons, Kenneth and Scott Keller of Genoa City; grandchildren, Morgen Keller, and  Loryne Keller and Jon Boettcher; great-grandchildren, Chloe Keller and Kaiden Boettcher; brother, Roger McNamer; sisters-in-law Ethel McNamer and Kathy Keller; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ralph and Linda Keller.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers, Dwight McNamer and Paul McNamer; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Paul and Marie Keller Jr., and Robert and Carleen Keller; and her parents-in-law, Paul and Evelyn Keller Sr.

Private family services will be held. Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home and Crematory of Genoa City, WI is assisting the family. Online condolences can be made at haaselockwoodfhs.com
