Helen H. Abbe age 95 of Elkhorn, WI died on October 7, 2023 with her family by her side.  She was born on March 24, 1928; daughter of the late William and Lydia (Harms) Stege.  Helen was married to William G. Abbe on June 1, 1947 in Tinley Park, IL; they devoted their life to each other until the time of his death in 1989.  Helen loved to do yard work; she enjoyed cutting and trimming her lawn, and also tending to the flowers and shrubs she planted and cared for.  She enjoyed baking, and liked watching cooking shows.  Above all, she greatly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren; and took every opportunity to hold a baby that she could get.  Helen is preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brothers; Irwin (Ann) Stege, and Marvin Stege.  She is survived by her children; Lois (Mike) Spragia, Gerald (JoAnne) Abbe, Debbie (Jim) Clark; grandchildren; Gina (Kurt) Brellenthin, Julie (Peter) Fitch, Joanna Spragia, Patrick (Kate) Abbe, Andrew (Kate) Abbe, Bridget (Chad) Counts, Timothy (Jami) Abbe, Jill (Nick) Musgrove, Ben (Katie) Clark, Kelly (Craig) Guthrie; 24 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law; Barbara Stege; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.  A Visitation for Helen will take place at Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home and Crematory 730 N. Wisconsin Street Elkhorn, WI on Wednesday October 11, 2023 from 4:00PM to 7:00PM.  Funeral Service will take place on Thursday October 12, 2023 at 11:30AM at First Evangelical Lutheran Church 415 Devendorf Street Elkhorn, WI 53121.  Helen will be laid to rest at Roselawn Memory Gardens following the funeral.  In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to First Lutheran Church and School 415 Devendorf Street Elkhorn, WI.  Arrangements are under the direction of Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home and Crematory of Elkhorn, WI.  Online guestbook can be found at www.haaselockwoodfhs.com.
