Obituary
Helen M. Gifford, age 95 of the Village of Bloomfield, WI, died Sunday morning Sept. 28, 2014 at the Aurora Lakeland Medical Center in Elkhorn, WI.
The former Helen Mardan Russell was born on March 22, 1919 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of the late Daniel and Mary Fraser Russell. On May 23, 1942 in Lake Geneva, WI, Helen was united in marriage to Ray E. Gifford. She moved from Chicago to Bloomfield Township in the early 1940's.
Helen helped on the family farm and was Treasurer for the Town of Bloomfield for 41 years. She was also secretary for the Bloomfield Cemetery Assoc. for many years. She enjoyed cooking, reading and loved animals.
Helen is survived by: 3 sons-Russell of Fitchburg, WI, Alick and Daniel of Genoa City, WI; 2 grandchildren-Holly Gifford and Jaime (Jeff) Gorr and 2 great grandchildren-Max and Alex Gorr.
She was preceded in death by her husband-Ray on March 14, 1993, 1 son-Tom and a sister-Elizabeth "Betty" Henderson.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00PM Thursday October 2, 2014 at the Haase-Lockwood & Assoc. Funeral Home in Genoa City. Private Family interment will be in Bloomfield Cemetery on Friday.
