Hobart S. Elliott, 85, of Rockford, IL., passed away at home on September 3rd, 2025. Hobart was born in Elkhorn, WI., on August 25th, 1940 to his parents Franklin, and Maggie (Stocker) Elliott.
Hobart first and foremost loved his family, but more than anything loved being, "Papa," to his many grandchildren. Known to be the "funny guy," to many people, he loved to be a character not only for people in his life, but also the high school students at Streamwood High School when he was a maintenance worker there. Always the hard worker, Hobart enjoyed people, and watching black and white western films with a bowl of Neapolitan ice cream in his down time. Hobart was also an avid sports fan, loving the Chicago White Sox and the L.A. Lakers.
Hobart is survived by his ex-wife Margo Graen, children; Hobart "Hobie" Elliott Jr., Amy (Mike DiPiazza) Elliott, Marjorie (Preston) Timms, Jacquelyn Wells, Marlow Herron, and Carl Bittinger. His grandkids; Lexi (Brian), Rayne (Cade), Brady, Mandy, Brad, Brandon, Nichole, and Zachary. He is further survived by his great grandchild, James.
Hobart is preceded is death by his parents, his brother Frank Jr., his grandfather Herbert Elliott, his grandmother Emily A. Stocker, and his grandkids Vincent and Adam.
A graveside service will be taking place on Tuesday September 16th, 2025 at Hillside Cemetery, 825 County Highway B, at 12:00P.M. Haase-Lockwood & Associates are honored to serve the Elliott family.
