Iola A. Sorensen, 98; of Golden Years Retirement Home Walworth, WI died Monday January 9, 2017.  She was born January 17, 1918 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of the late Ingvald and Selma Hansen. Iola was united in marriage to George Andreas Sorensen in Chicago, IL in 1938, George died in 2005.  Iola was a devout Christian and an active church member belonging to Calvary Community Church.  She loved to play the piano and was involved with the string band of Calvary Community Church playing at various retirement homes and the homes of shut-in church members.  Iola was very proud of her Norwegian heritage.  She was a devoted homemaker and a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be deeply missed by her two children; Sue Ellen (Gary) Griffin of Barrington, IL and Steve (Sue) Sorensen of Walworth, WI, nine grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.  Iola was preceded in death by her husband and a son, Paul Sorensen. Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Saturday January 14, 2017 at Calvary Community Church N2620 Harris Road Williams Bay, WI with Pastor Jeff Griffin and Pastor Chuck Cervenka officiating.   Burial will be at Roselawn Memory Gardens Cemetery in the Town of Delavan, WI.  Visitation will be at the church on Saturday from 10:00 AM until time of service.
