James A. "Bud" Taylor Jr., 72, passed away on November 18, 2024, in Caledonia, WI. He was born February 28, 1952, in South Carolina, the son of the late James and Lenora (Jernegan) Taylor. After graduating from Auburn University, he went on to pursue a two-pronged career in music. He was an excellent trumpet player and was active in the Atlanta area for over 35 years, enjoying his many years as principal trumpet for the Columbus (GA) Symphony Orchestra, and played regularly with the Atlanta Symphony, and Philadelphia Orchestra as well. As an ardent devotee of pipe organs, he learned the complex job of tuning, maintaining, installing and building these instruments, receiving his training as an installer/builder/tuner apprentice at the renowned organ manufacturer M.P. Möller in Hagerstown, MD. Upon his return to Atlanta, he was employed by A.E. Schlueter for many years. James is survived by his daughter, Emily Ann Brown (Chris), granddaughter, Clara Brown, stepmother, Mary Sue Taylor, brother, Jeff (Vicki) Taylor, and many extended family members and friends.
