James I. Coots, Sr., age 74 of Burlington, WI (Wheatland Township) died Saturday morning January 2, 2016 at the Aurora Memorial Hospital of Burlington.

James Isom Coots was born on January 14, 1941 in Hazard, Kentucky, the son of the late Roy and Callie Dillion Coots.  On November 18, 1982 in Salem United Methodist Church in Salem, WI, James was united in marriage to Sharon Schroeder.

James served as a Sp4 in the U.S. Army.  He worked as a roll splitter for the Badger Cork Company in Trevor, WI for 18 years.  He enjoyed fishing, wood crafting and tinkering on cars.

James is survived by:  His wife Sharon; 4 children-Robin (James) Butera of Salem, WI, James I. (Cindy) Coots, Jr. of Pleasant Prairie, WI, Richard A. (Christina) Coots of Camp Lake, WI and Harold R. (Angela) Coots of Kenosha, WI; 13 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and 1 brother-Roger Coots of Danville, IL.

James was preceded in death by 1 brother-Henry Lee Coots, SR and 2 sisters-Rosa Valdez and Louverne Simonson.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00PM Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at the Haase-Lockwood & Assoc. Funeral Home and Crematory.  Inurnment will be at a later date in So.
