Obituary

James Peter Dulbis age 84 of Genoa City, WI, passed away peacefully, on Sunday September 7, 2014. He was born on July 10, 1930 to the late Stanley and Helen (Gorski) Dulbis. Jamie was a devoted brother to Donald (Bridgette) and the late Calvin and Victor (Theresa) Dulbis. Father to Debra Monroe, Dina Morris and Darcy (Ted) Proctor. Grandfather to Matthew (Sarah), Brett, Patrick, Brian, Joseph and Rose Marilyn.
Jamie was born and raised in Chicago on the near north side. He attended Schneider Elementary School and Lake View High School. As a young boy, he worked on a truck delivering papers for the Chicago Daily News and later, as a teenager, had the good fortune to work at Riverview Park. He served in the National Guard while working as an apprentice at the Barr Roofing Company. Shortly thereafter, Jamie acquired the business and made it his own.
A successful slate and tile roofer/carpenter by trade, Jamie was extraordinarily creative and skilled with his hands. He possessed the uncanny ability to conceptualize an idea and then turn that idea into a reality. He was well respected and best known for his meticulous craftsmanship and attention to detail. Jamie's signature style was ahead of its time in the way that he qwas able to take a simple concept, build on it from beginning to end, and, ultimately, create a space or structure that was a functional as it was unique.
Jamie exuded personality and was known for his affability and his penchant for sharing, engaging stories which were loved by all. He was a collector of eclectic pieces, enjoyed playing pool, was a fishing enthusiast, an excellent cook and homemade wine vinter.
A celebration of life will be held in Jamie's honor on Saturday, Septe3mber 20, 2014, hosted by his three daughters from 1:00 to 3:00PM at 6863 N. Jean Avenue Chicago, IL. If you would like more information, please call 847-770-0175.
