It is with great sadness that the family of James Hughes announces his passing on January 31, 2020. Jim passed peacefully at home in Antioch, IL at the age of 85. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Helen (Brockman) Hughes, his brother, Jack Hughes, and his sister, Mary Hughes. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Zale Hughes, his daughter, Amy Eling, his son, Jesse Hughes, and his granddaughter, Megan Eling.

Jim was a general contractor until his stroke nine years ago. When he wasn't building homes, Jim loved to fix equipment and work on other projects around his farm. His great outlook on life and infectious sense of humor will be missed by everyone that knew him.
