Obituary

James Block Jr. age 54 of Elkhorn died at home on May 1, 2024. James was born on June 20, 1969; son of James Sr. and Susan (Iseli) Block. James was a 1987 graduate of East Troy High School; later attending Mt. Scenario, and then UW Madison where he received his Masters Degree. He currently held the principles position in Richardson School in the Beloit area. He enjoyed coaching and umpiring softball; and also enjoyed coaching football. James married Margaret A. Radtke on June 17, 2000 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Jefferson. They then resided and raised their family in Elkhorn. James enjoyed maintaining his lawn; and he despised dandelions in his yard. He had an admiration for a good cigar and a good whiskey; he enjoyed hunting and the outdoors; the Green Bay Packers, and he always welcomed the summer months, as it meant he could spend time on his pontoon boat on Diamond Lake in Grandview, WI. Above all of that, he loved his girls, and his dogs.

James is survived by his parents; wife Margaret; daughters; Gretta (Hayden Poltermann) Block, and Emma Block; and brothers; Shawn Block, and Todd (Amy Perkins) Block.

A prayer service will be held privately for James Officiated by Rev. Tom De Groot. A Memorial Gathering of Friends and Family will take place on Saturday May 11, 2024 from 2:00PM to 4:00PM at Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home and Crematory 730 N. Wisconsin Street Elkhorn, WI. James' arrangements are under the direction of Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home and Crematory of Elkhorn, WI.
