James R. Schmidt

James “Jim” “Jimmy” R. Schmidt, age 54 of Elkhorn, WI, passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2026. He was born on October 19, 1971, in Kewaunee, WI, the son of Robert Schmidt and Luanne Stangel. Jim was the owner of Cycles Plus Service LLC in Elkhorn, WI, a motorcycle repair shop. He was a man of many talents. He was known to be the life of the party. He loved to socialize and was known as a jokester who enjoyed making others laugh. He loved playing music and was in a band who called themselves “One and Done”. He loved everything outdoors, such as motorcycles, deer hunting with his buddies and family fishing, camping and shooting guns with his bestie. He loved old cars, woodworking and was always tinkering with something to figure out how it works. Jim especially loved his family and his cats Ena and Jynx. He was the big brother who always taught you how not to get caught. He will be deeply missed by all of those who were fortunate enough to have him in his life.

Jim is survived by his father, Robert Schmidt and his mother and stepfather, Luanne and Paul Kozlowski; the love of his life and savior, Catherine Johnson; daughter, Ashley Maples; sister, Brittany Schmidt; brothers, John (Adrienne) Schmidt, Kevin (Kati) Kozlowski and Michael Kozlowski, four grandchildren and four nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Cycles Plus Service LLC, 735 N. Wisconsin St., Elkhorn, WI, 53121, from 1:00PM-4:00PM.
