Janet M. Simons, 81, of Delavan, WI died Friday November 11, 2022 at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center Elkhorn, WI surrounded by her family.  She was born July 7, 1941 in Janesville, WI the daughter of the late Harold I. and Leona H. (Lemke) Baker.  Janet graduated from the Fort Atkinson High School with the Class of 1958.  On May 27, 1989, she was united in marriage to Wayne F. Simons in Whitewater, WI after 23 years of marriage Wayne died on July 16, 2012.  Janet worked for over 35 years at the Jefferson County Nursing Home as a nurse's aide.  After leaving there she worked for over 20 years as a clerk at the Elkhorn Ace Hardware and Do it Best Hardware in Elkhorn, WI before retiring in 2016.  Janet liked to sew, crochet, she was a skilled Canasta card player, and a ferrous croquet player.  She loved to cook and bake.  Her greatest love was family.  She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Kristi (Scott) Bliss of Delavan, WI, her three grandchildren, Katrina (Zachery Sawyers) Granberg of Janesville, WI, Kira Granberg and Gus Granberg both of Delavan, WI.  Her three siblings: David (Cheryl) Baker of Redman, OR, Larry (Clarice) Baker of Lake Mills, WI and Lois Baker of Weyerhauser, WI, her godson Jim Baker of Wausau, WI and by many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.  Janet was preceded in death by her husband Wayne, a sister Sandra Baker and a brother Roger Baker.
