Elkhorn: Janice M. Thorpe; 75 of Elkhorn, WI died Sunday April 27, 2014 at Holton Manor Nursing Home Elkhorn, WI. She was born July 25, 1938 in Mondovi, WI the daughter of the late Henry E. and Bertha (Engen) Lurndahl. She was united in marriage to Leslie H. Amidon on July 12, 1957 in Mondovi, WI. They were married for 39 years. On June 20, 1998 in Elkhorn, WI Jan married R. Merrill Thorpe, he died February 1, 2010. Jan was the secretary for the Walworth County Farm Bureau for over 25 years before retiring. She was a member of the Sugar Creek Lutheran Church of Elkhorn. She is survived by her daughter Kim Amidon of Lodi, WI, son-in-law Robert Butzen of Elkhorn, WI, 2 grandchildren Stacey (Dennis) Nielsen and Steve Moore. 3 great-grandchildren; Makyla, Tyler and Landon. 1 sister Lois Jurgens of Loveland CO. Janice was preceded in death by her husband, 2 daughters; Kristi Teague and Kelly Butzen.
Funeral service will be 10:30 AM Thursday May 01, 2014 at Sugar Creek Lutheran Church N5690 Cobblestone Road Elkhorn, WI with Rev. Jane E. Rothman officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
