Jean T. Katzenberg died February 3, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving family.  She was born on June 4, 1928. The daughter of the late Elmer "Scoop" and Luella (Baumbach) Fries.  On Sept 26, 1953, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pell Lake, WI she was united in marriage to Michael Roy Katzenberg who preceded her in death on October 12, 2013.  She worked as a Librarian at Central and Star Center Elementary Schools for 30 years, where she was best known as "Mrs. K".  She loved interacting with her students, telling the kids jokes on lunch duty and reading her favorite book "My Little Sister Ate One Hare."

During her life Jean has been a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Lyons, WI.  where she loved to Worship and sing in the choir. Jean treasured being on the family farm where she enjoyed cooking and baking for her loved ones. A special place was the cabin her and Mike built in Hayward, Wi. Where she spent time bird watching, fishing on the Chippewa Flowage and making memories with her family.

Survived by her eight children: Michael (Colleen) Katzenberg, Patricia (Dale) Snyder, Brian (Sandi) Katzenberg, Eileen (David) Stefanski, Greg (Peg) Katzenberg, Dan (Lynette) Katzenberg, Maureen (Jerry) Hutkowski and Joe (Karen) Katzenberg.  Further survived by 23 Grandchildren, 51 Great Grandchildren, Sister Mary Rush and Brother Elmer "Butch" Fries (Kirby McBean).  She was preceded in death by her Sister Barbara Cone, Brother in Laws Eugene "Bud" Rush, Harold "Schmaltz" Katzenberg, and Sister-in-laws Isolyn "Shorty" Katzenberg and Phyllis Tiggemann.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00AM Friday February 9, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church 1540 Mill St.  Lyons, WI.  Inurnment will follow at Bloomfield Cemetery.  Visitation will be held Thursday February 8, 2024, from 3:30PM until 8:00PM at the Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home 113 Freeman St.  Genoa City, WI.  The Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home and Crematory of Genoa City, WI is honored to serve the Katzenberg family.
